Don Roberts knew early on that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become an engineer. And it was Don’s extensive military background that eventually helped him achieve it.  After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, Don joined the submarine force as a commissioned officer on three nuclear-powered vessels. He returned to the Naval Postgraduate School to complete his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and gained vital experience as an instructor at the academy.

Don entered the motor vehicle accident reconstruction industry in 2001 and, in 2008, moved from Charleston, SC to join the Charlotte office of DELTA |v| as a Professional Engineer.  Now, as a Senior Engineer, Don is regularly involved in complex commercial vehicle accidents involving full scale reenactments and human factors issues.  He is also well versed in harvesting onboard digital data from vehicles of all kinds.  Don’s teaching experience gleaned from his time at the military academy and his calm demeanor have made him an effective communicator in high-pressure legal proceedings.

Will Tran joined DELTA |v| in 2020 as an Associate Engineer in the Atlanta office.

His passion for mixing hands-on work with engineering principles to dissect problems and create solutions has always encouraged his love for mechanical engineering. It has also opened his eyes to the endless opportunities one can explore within the field. This includes automotive – a newly developed passion that led him to DELTA |v|.

Will chose to join DELTA |v| for its culture and community, work balance, and the unique industry of forensic engineering. In his own words, he most appreciates:

“Being able to apply my recently developed passion of automotive with the fascinating field of forensic engineering, where problem-solving and critical thinking skills can be applied to a real-world application of vehicle collision to unravel the story behind each collision.”

While every day will be different, Will’s responsibilities consist mostly of traveling to assist with fieldwork, imaging vehicle incident data, or documenting collision sites and vehicles. As an Associate Engineer, he is eager to work with and learn from his fellow, more experienced colleagues and obtain a better understanding of the fundamentals of vehicle collision forensics.

Will graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. In his third year, his passion for automotive began while participating in a wreck racing club. Club members were given a tight budget to build a car from different parts gathered from junkyards, eBay, or made in the lab to compete in the annual grassroots competition.

Outside of work, Will loves exploring food through baking, cooking, and eating out. He has even made his own pizza steel to mimic a pizza oven at home and has experimented with cuisines such as Italian, Japanese, Korean, and more. When he’s not in the kitchen or out discovering new eateries, Will learns about different automotive systems and attempts repairs to his 21-year-old Honda Accord.

Andrew Pettit began his career at DELTA |v| in 2021 as an Associate Engineer for our Atlanta Regional Office. A bright and academically driven individual, Andrew graduated with a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering and continued on to earn a M.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management from Mercer University. A true testament to his work ethic, he maintained the needed GPA to be selected for the All Southern Conference Academic Honor Role during his football career at Mercer.

Andrew assists DELTA |v|’s lead engineers with fieldwork including event data recovery as well as scanning/documenting the scene and vehicles involved. What makes Andrew excited to work for DELTA |v| is the opportunity to be challenged by different cases everyday. He enjoys the problem solving aspect of engineering and how his data findings provide clients with the comfort of having a greater understanding of what occurred.

In addition to the intellectually challenging workload, he is looking forward to being a part of the close-knit team in Atlanta. In his own words, “I look forward to being part of the amazing team here! Everyone is so kind and welcoming, making it exciting to show up to work everyday.”

An avid foodie, Andrew loves to spend his free time trying new foods, sampling different restaurants, as well as cooking new recipes at home. He also enjoys relaxing outdoors, playing video games, and tinkering with his computer.

Jules Rube joined DELTA |v| as Junior Client Engagement Associate in the Charlotte office in 2019. In February 2021, Jules became a part of the Atlanta office as Client Engagement Associate. She received her BA in Political Science with a minor in International Studies from UNC Charlotte where she is also an alumna of Delta Zeta sorority.

In her multifaceted role, Jules partners with our Client Engagement Manager to assist clients in determining needs, meeting their goals by managing project timelines, setting up and scheduling jobs, as well as various general office duties. The catalyst to her success is her focus on creating strong relationships with her colleagues to provide superior service. Jules is looking forward to learning as much as she can from her colleagues and the industry—both in the office and out in the field.

One of Jules’ biggest values is honesty. DELTA |v| became her choice employer because, in our work, we actively seek the truth. In her own words: “I enjoy working for a company that is investigating facts. People deserve to know the truth.”

Jules appreciates the unique field and opportunity that DELTA |v| offers that perfectly aligned with her desire to transition into a STEM-focused industry and business. As the company continues to grow, each day brings a new and exciting challenge. And Jules is eager to be a part of that.

Describing herself as an “adventure-seeking goofball,” Jules enjoys anything to do with the outdoors or the mountains such as rock climbing, backpacking, and camping. After work and on the weekends, you can find her hosting a weekly trivia game, dreaming of being a stand-up comedian, hanging out with her cat (Dakota), playing video games, cooking, and eating.
