"I enjoy all aspects of what I do. My most enjoyment comes from receiving a new assignment, and then delivering on it by exceeding a client's expectations."

Tim Cheek’s engineering interest grew from his high school physics and chemistry courses. This led to a pursuit of degrees in the field of materials engineering. Tim started his career as a consultant where he learned the relationship between materials failure analysis and forensic engineering.

Prior to arriving at DELTA |v|, Tim spent seven years in product development at a commercial vehicle manufacturer. As the manager of the metallurgical laboratories, he led efforts in component failure analysis and the support of truck and bus product design. As a Product Integrity Engineer, he investigated accidents of various types including crashes and fires, and was a corporate representative in product litigation matters. Although Tim enjoyed that experience, he missed the client interaction that consulting allowed.

In 2005, Tim moved to Charlotte to join the DELTA |v| team. In addition to reconstructing motor vehicle crashes, Tim is one of DELTA |v|’s resident vehicle product liability experts with a specialty in steering, braking, and vehicle dynamics, as well as advanced driver assist systems and component failure analysis. He is a nationally sought-after expert in these areas, and he also enjoys teaching and publishing as a way to share his experiences with the forensic community.

Tim recently began playing tennis again, a sport in which he competed as a junior. He also enjoys traveling and watching his Florida Gators compete.
