DELTA [v] Team Successfully Completes Xtreeme Challenge

Ropes Course Unifies DELTA [v] Forensic Engineering, Inc.- near Charlotte, NC

On Friday September 30th, the DELTA [v] team headed out to conquer a local Ropes Course. Xtreeme Challenge is ten acres of low and high ropes courses that promote team-building and group activity.

The DELTA [v] adventure began with a low ropes course known as The Challenge Walk.  The team faced a series of eight interconnected activities that were each 24″ to 30″ off the ground.  The mission was to complete each obstacle as a team without any ground touches.  The proudest group accomplishment on the low ropes segment was the plank walk.  DELTA [v] completed this challenge in 8 minutes, and then later learned that 90% of the groups do not complete this obstacle in the ten minute allotment.

DELTA [v] then strapped on safety harnesses and conquered the High Ropes Course.   At 30 feet above ground, several team members had to overcome fears and depend on his/her peers to complete these challenges.  The High Ropes Course concluded with the crowd-favorite, Twin Zip-Lines that stretched 350+ feet across over the facility’s lake.  The DELTA [v] team and participating family members sailed across the lake and to lower ground.

Finally, the entire group divided into two teams to compete in The Great Raft Adventure.  In this competition, each team raced to build a raft that would set sail in the lake to capture the group’s flag.  It was a battle of DELTA [v]’s engineers v. the non-engineer staff.  As the engineer’s carefully crafted raft fell apart in the lake, it was “Team Common Sense” (non-engineering staff) that pulled off the victory.
